In a conversation with reporters, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: “The adopted document is extremely confrontational in relation to our country.”
The National Defense Act for Fiscal Year 2023, or NDAA, authorizes additional spending on the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, $500 million more than US President Joe Biden’s request earlier this year.
The bill also suspends some restrictions on contracts for the supply of ammunition to support Ukraine. It is expected to be passed by the Senate and House of Representatives this month and sent to the White House for Biden to sign into law.
